
Meet Dr. Edward T. Haupt

Dr. Edward Haupt is a fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon at Mayo Clinic in Florida. He specializes in advanced reconstruction of the foot and ankle, including arthritis, fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, complex deformity correction, cartilage repair, and minimally invasive and arthroscopic techniques.

Dr. Haupt has been recognized for excellence in education, research, and clinical leadership, earning multiple awards throughout his training and career. He is widely published, with over 20 scientific papers and more than 30 presentations at national and international meetings. A member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, he is known for his patient-centered, compassionate approach to care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Haupt enjoys swimming, diving, weightlifting, and spending time with his wife, Gayle, and their three daughters in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dr. Haupt completed his foot and ankle fellowship training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he gained advanced expertise in complex reconstruction, deformity correction, ankle arthroplasty, sports injury repair, and minimally invasive techniques. He was selected as an AOFAS Resident Scholar during this time. At the time Cedars-Sinai Medical Center was ranked #3 nationally for Orthopedics by U.S. News & World Report.
2015-2020
University of Florida
He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Throughout training, he was recognized with multiple awards, including Resident-of-the-Year, the William F. Enneking Education Award, Chief Resident Research Award, and Intern-of-the-Year.
2011-2015
University of Florida
Dr. Haupt earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, graduating with Honors in Research. He was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for his commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
2005-2009
University of Florida
He received his undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Florida. During this time, he was an All-American football player, Academic All-SEC, and a two-time National Champion with the Florida Gators (2006, 2008).
